Over the weekend, the sound of horses racing around the bends could be heard, as Nanango Race Club held their December meet.
On Saturday, 14 December, crowds gathered at the Nanango Racetrack to see the last race of the year, with one family taking advantage of the excitement, celebrating a birthday at the races.
The morning started out muggy, with a hint of rain in the air, but this did not stop the crowds from gathering, ready to cheer on their favourite horse and jockey.
As the meet continued, the weather held for a couple of races to get underway, with tension building to see if the rest of the races would go ahead, and the rain held, allowing all races to go ahead as scheduled.
The youngest race fans got to experience some Christmas magic at the races with the race club organising a small Christmas present for the kids.
