A strong lineup for CBC

The 18th annual Central Brangus Classic is set to kick off in less than a day, with vendors showing a strong line-up of stud and commercially based cattle for numerous buyers across the state.

Twenty Central Queensland Brangus studs will offer 129 bulls and 16 heifers at CQLX Gracemere on Friday 27 September.

Over 400 visitors and potential buyers from across the state are expected to attend the sale on Friday, which could make it one of the biggest yet.

Nutrien Livestock Rockhampton manager Julian Laver considers the lineup of both bulls and females to be predominantly strong.

“There is something for everyone here at the sale,” he said.

“We have bulls and females that can be used in both stud and commercial operations.

“There is an excellent lineup of cattle and I encourage all Brangus breeders to come out and have a look.”

Last year’s lineup saw 118 of 135 bulls sold with an average of $9068, while 14 of 15 females sold with an average of $6429 and a top price of $13,500.

The entirety of the sale will be live-streamed on Stocklive Elite for those unable to attend.

All are encouraged to attend the pre-sale inspection at 4pm this afternoon.

Having been in the industry for 25 years and having been involved with the CBC since its inception, Julian is confident the sale will go well.

“It’s a relaxed atmosphere here and I recommend all vendors and agents to attend the inspection,” he said.
