Blackall $60,000 Keno win

A Blackall property owner has received a $60,000 Keno win, supplying him with a positive start to 2025.

Thanks to his ‘special numbers’ the hardworking man scored the Keno Classic eight Sport jackpot in draw 668 drawn on Monday, 13 January.

The Blackall resident will look forward to his total prize of $66,602.

“This is great news, I am very excited,” he said.

“I haven’t had much time for it to sink in as I’m busy working today.

“I always play the same numbers, so it was pretty amazing that they all finally showed up.”

With $60,000 about to boost his bank account, the gleeful winner shared he would use his newfound treasure wisely.

“I’ll make some improvements to my property,” he shared.

“I want to spend it wisely, so I’ll have a good think about it.”

His winning entry was purchased from Barcoo Hotel, 95 Shamrock Street, Blackall.

Barcoo Hotel co-owner Sharon King shared she was thrilled to see a patron take home a $60,000 Keno prize in her venue.

“Staff and customers are all very ecstatic,” she said.

“I was here when the jackpot was won and there was lots of yelling and excitement. I was like, ‘What’s going on?!’.

“This is the biggest prize we’ve sold since we took over ownership so it’s incredible news.

“Congratulations to the winning man and we wish you all the best with your prize.”

In FY24, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 78.5 million wins collectively worth more than $1.16 billion.

During this time, Keno crowned 18 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $46.7 million.

Nine of these major winners were Queenslanders, including a Kallangur man who won $8.45 million after scoring the Keno Classic and Keno Mega Millions 10 Spot jackpots in the one draw.

Queenslanders enjoyed more than 28.5 million Keno wins totalling more than $441.6 million at pubs and clubs across the state in FY24.
