With just 65 days to go, the official countdown to Queensland’s biggest event has begun, with discounted tickets on sale from midday today.

The 2022 Ekka runs from 6 to 14 August, 2022.

Queenslanders can sign up at ekka.com.au to save up to 50 per cent off Ekka tickets.

Once the limited number of 50pc off tickets are sold, a discount of 30pc off will apply until midday 6 June.

Tickets must be bought online and people need to nominate their show day to manage daily capacities.

RNA chief executive Brendan Christou said after two challenging years without an Ekka, the RNA was delighted to bring back what is a Queensland institution and reunite country and city.

“It’s time for us all to come together again and enjoy the people’s show,’’ Mr Christou said.

“There is wonderful community sentiment for the show, our exhibitors, competitors and the public can’t wait to welcome the return of the Ekka.’’

Mr Christou said the RNA was mindful of rising cost of living pressures and providing families with value for money so the Ekka could be enjoyed on any budget.

“After five years of freezing ticket prices, this year tickets will only increase by $1 and we will offer more Super Saver discount days than ever before, offering a further 20pc off on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday of the show,’’ he said.

“That means a family of four can come to the show on a Super Saver Day for about $34, with the 50pc discount added on top, while an adult would pay just over $14, it is the most affordable show in years.

“That’s in addition to the incredible ticket price discounts we are offering Ekka subscribers from today.

“To save, all people have to do is subscribe at ekka.com.au.”

Mr Christou said the RNA was committed to offering unbeatable value to encourage people to return after two years of cancellations or visit the show for the first time.

“The return of the Ekka will feature all the traditional and unique show experiences the public know and love, such as our beloved competitions, animals, rides, showbags, amazing entertainment, including the night show and fireworks plus some of the nation’s finest food and wine,’’ he said.
